What is the latest on your truck? Did you get it repaired or switched out so some new driver gets it?

Taking my 1st real hometime since Christmas on my way back to the shop. Will have it at the shop in Mascot tomorrow. My dispatcher suggested that I try to get to corporate in case it's gonna be a long repair so I can have access to another vehicle if they want me to switch.

I saw two of your trucks headed south on I 35 north of Des Moines today empty. When y’all deadhead all the way back are you paid the same as loaded?

those guys were probably coming back from Owatonna, MN...they're starting to get busy, and they give us a lot of business.

And yeah, we are paid the same loaded or empty, and the odd part, we are paid the empty miles for the load after delivery. Another words, pick up a load, say, out of Spring Hill to Owatonna MN, deliver, then the empty miles back to the plant go on the Owatonna load. That way, if we deliver on the day of payroll cutoff, the empty miles are paid when we scan our paperwork in, not when we actually get the trailer back to the plant a day later.

I delivered last Wednesday in Orlando then hometime, and I am headed back to Church Hill, so round trip it's 1288 miles, and I have the paperwork scanned in already, so the round trip is ready to be paid on payday even if I don't make it back before the end of Tuesday (payroll cutoff).

Dropped truck at the dealer and headed for a hotel. Service guy put it in as a "hot ticket" since I am a repeat repair. That way it goes in 1st thing in the morning and hopefully out tomorrow. Fingers crossed that they can find the problem.

Hearing subtle talk about our new trucks coming in this year. I am hearing (and not from drivers) that they are opting for the all new Mack Anthem. I am on the fence with these trucks. I am not in love with the outside design (it may end up being like the old KW T600 when it 1st came out, some people hated it, but it became a very popular and lasting design). I do, however, like the interior layout and options a lot. Kinda interested to see if the talk is accurate. If it is, it seems as though the merger with the Daseke family of companies is already having a positive effect.

    Update on truck.

Just spoke to the dealer, said it was injectors again (WOW, last set lasted a month)...not sure I hope this fixes it or not. With the brand new trucks coming in soon, maybe they'd take pitty on me and my breakdowns and reward my patience with a brand new truck.. yeah, I know, pay your dues Mr. Truck driver...but one can wish sometimes.

Sounds like they put in a set that was faulty...but no way for them to know beforehand..at least they're fixing it...hopefully this will be the end of the issue..

Yeah, that's the joy of driving modern electronic engines. I guess the silver lining is, it happened during the slow season, so I'm not losing too much as far as missing loads, it could be worse.
