What I have always found to be interesting is all tractors made are more the same then different. Think about it. Who makes the engines? Who makes the transmissions? Who makes the fuel tanks, the wire. even things like o-rings and bearings are made by the same company's. The only real thing not universal is the body's and in this you can see a big difference. Go to a truck stop and look at old tractors there. What do you see more of? How many old Freightliners do you see there these days? I stopped worrying about truck makes when Kenworth started changing their trucks in the middle 70s.

That's just it. The only real differences in trucks (mid 2000's and older) was the cab, hood and the way it was wired/air systems plumbed. Now it seems the heavy truck manufacturers are going the way of the automakers. OEM brand engines and OEM brand power train. Only real similarities between brands is the style of frame construction.clubberLang, Dan.S and Streetroddreams Thank this.

Not what expected to hear.... Interesting.
So if a company buys Volvo or international, KW or Freightliner...none are more reliable vs the other?
I completely understand the emmissions junk as we have firetrucks with the issues... And I have been through 2 superdutys 6.7L... that cost a ton to fixStreetroddreams Thanks this. -
Pick if you like looks of one more than the interior luxuries of another

A 1995 Pete with a Detroit S60 in it.
Because that’s what I own right now, I’m married to it, and I’m Catholic.spyder7723, Brickwall, tommymonza and 4 others Thank this. -
Quality? Hell if I know. I know I personally think the new KW T680 in that dark blue is just gorgeous. I think the 2018 Cascadia looks like a video game truck. The international that looks like the nose of a snake is the ugliest truck on the road today.
Take the stupid looking hood mirrors off and that's one hell of a sexy truck.

That’s hard... I’ve been fortunate to be able to drive several different ones, mostly in North Dakota.. super nice flat top 389, turned up ISX, 18 speed, DEF/DPF delete, stretched out, stacks, the works. SO MANY GAUGES!! lol. AWESOME TRUCK! W900 same thing as the Pete. Both AWESOME trucks. An 06 Western Star which was nice but the ####pit felt funky after the Pete and KW. So I would say in my opinion and my short experience it’s a toss up between KW and Pete. Would like to get ahold of a Freightliner classic or older Western Star to see what they’re like. I love the looks of the T600 and T800. Drove a T800 day cab pulling water up there and it was a great workhorse. The Pete had that hood squeak though.
