OOIDA Survey on ELD's, Your Opinion?

fix it???? well , appoint an O/O as a head of FMCSA. You all know that ELD is not about safety.

No #### difference, and Landline is basically the National Inquirer of truck rags. OOIDA is as relevant as ANTIFA.

Hate them. Hate when I was on them. Go.go.go. speed limit no body gives a ####. Fuel island sitting for long periods or a bunch of racing through them. Yup it's going great for us. This is not what trucking was made for.

 

I like the level playing field where everyone is forced to follow the same set of rules. I do not want to be competing with idiots that haul $1.30/mile reefer loads and make up for it by driving 18,000 miles a month. Can't wait for April to come, so that the real enforcement can start. Rates will inevitably come up as these #######es get weeded out.

 

ELD's aren't the problem, the F'd up HOS rules are the problem. The ELD's follow the same set of rules paper logs do. So, those that whine and complain about the ELD putting them out of business were probably running illegal just to make a dollar and now it is tougher to cheat. I have been on Elogs for years, and I have no problem with them because I learned how to make a legal living in trucking years ago. In fact, if it weren't for the life insurance policy I have thru OOIDA, I would have cancelled my membership last renewal period because I am sick of them wasting my membership money on this issue.
