Hey everyone, thanks for all of the input! I just took my physical the other day and I was honest with them about what medication I was on. My blood pressure was fine in the office because I had been taking my meds and I got a 3 month card. 3 months because I need to get a sleep study done on account of my fatness putting me at risk of sleep apnea. I know I don’t have it though. Wife says I sleep fine and she has imsonia so she would know. Other than that I was deemed fit for duty and will receive my full clearance after the sleep study. Thanks again everyone!

Didn’t know the va does dot physicals. That’s very helpful and cost saving

Good luck. A lot of the sleep clinics connected with dot Drs are known for having virtually no one pass without sleep apnea.

Just posting to say...Good luck, in both finding a way into a truck, and with your health.
I also wanted to say...I love screen name. Ha ha.

Report that you take the meds. They may find it in your system. If they ask what meds are for, be honest. If they don't keep quiet.

Dr Anita Sagar retired in 2017. As far as I know there is no one else currently doing them at the HVAMC.

I am getting it done at the v.a.

I was completely honest at my physical. Honesty is the best policy, and my blood pressure is well under control.CrappieJunkie Thanks this.

I have just had my physical for the CDL permit, I am hoping to get into school in April. I have stage 3 kidney disease, 57% filtration rate. Some days I only pee twice, other days I pee every hour. I see a nephrologist every 6 months and I am not on any medication. When I had my medical the doctor was able to look at my history and I had to get a form signed by the nephrologist that the condition does not affect my physical ability to drive a commercial vehicle.
Hope this helps.Last edited: Mar 13, 2018
