I have one in walking distance to me and i am in heaven, this is a tragic story. This is why I never touch my phone while in the truck while moving. It can wait.

Scottie..... I think it’s just about distracted driving in general. Say for instance holding a cup of coffee, with 1 hand or 2 no difference.

The tricky part is that nowadays with the ELD mandates in effect a lot of drivers use the PHONE BASED APPS to keep track of their HOS,as getting the regular QualComm and PeopleNet devices are prohibitively expensive. It’s a double edged sword.

Not in WA and many other states with cell phone no hold laws.
No more holding that phone while driving under new law in Washington state

However, the article states that: “the minimal use of A FINGER to activate, deactivate, or initiate a function of a personal electronic device while driving will still be allowed”,so they may have taken the ELD mandate into account.
