Distracted Driver

I have one in walking distance to me and i am in heaven, this is a tragic story. This is why I never touch my phone while in the truck while moving. It can wait.

 

Scottie..... I think it’s just about distracted driving in general. Say for instance holding a cup of coffee, with 1 hand or 2 no difference.

You don't have to stare at a coffee cup for 8 solid seconds to take a sip from it.... just sayin'

 

He should have lost his CDL as an imminent hazard to public safety as all CDL holders caught using phones while driving should also lose their license as well.

 

The tricky part is that nowadays with the ELD mandates in effect a lot of drivers use the PHONE BASED APPS to keep track of their HOS,as getting the regular QualComm and PeopleNet devices are prohibitively expensive. It’s a double edged sword.

 

Not in WA and many other states with cell phone no hold laws.

However,the article states that: “the minimal use of A FINGER to activate, deactivate, or initiate a function of a personal electronic device while driving will still be allowed”,so they may have taken the ELD mandate into account.
