Gawd, I hate that. Forgot all about that. Every now and then I drive a Mack. Having that buzzer going off for an hour getting to a rig is at the ninth level of stupid.

The PornStars I ran had the annoying buzzer as well, but I had the dealer switch it off in the ECM.BigBob410, Dave_in_AZ, rbrtwbstr and 2 others Thank this.

Yup. Ive been asking my mechanic if we can turn it off. He looks at me like im an idiot.
Some days this winter it was on for hours hopping farm to farm. I was beginning to think towards the end of the day that the buzzer was losing its sound, but i think now that i may be slightly more deaf than before.
The mack design team needs a good smack across the face with a leather fuel glove.BigBob410, Dave_in_AZ, Lepton1 and 2 others Thank this. -
Chains can actually last quite well if ya slow down, stay in the soft stuff and stay off the hard stuff, and keep em adjusted. Avoid exposed pavement like the plague.
You can actually get really good traction under a good load without chains if it's below 20 degrees.
40 ton trucks should never have plastic bumpers! What wall street fool thought up that idea? Was forced to do that very thing because of a company mistake, snow won over the bumper of course, those idiots canned me for it. Now what are the chances of NOT encountering a snow drift over about 8 inches high in winter! LOL A good sized bird strike would break one. Of course, then there's those Texas sized mosquito's.BigBob410, Dave_in_AZ, Blackshack46 and 2 others Thank this. -
I carry a 5 gal bucket of a salt/sand mix during the winter for times like that...help in cases where the roads are fine, but the customer's lot is solid ice.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Where are the autonomous trucks in this video?
-
Parked at the truckstop...they're not stupid, they know when to stop
-
Why do autonomous trucks need a truck stop?Oxbow Thanks this.
-
Because even autonomous trucks are prohibited from parking on ramps and shoulders just like us carbon based units would be.WesternPlains Thanks this.
