I spoke with a few people who have worked for US Xpress ranging from 4 to 7 years ago and they say that they averaged 2800 to 3300 miles a week, that if you want to run, they'll run you all the way.

I am curious on how the pay works though, they said they never took home less than $1200 a week back then, hell i'll be happy if I could make $850 to $900 a week initially.

What is the starting .cpm? Or is it a percentage? If so, what is the starting percentage?

Thank you for taking your time.

Are you sure you were talking to a former driver or a current recruiter?

Your going to need this baby's services after I show you my check stubs...

Divide those numbers by two if your running solo. If your running teams then that's about right could be little higher depending on how you run.

There is no % pay at USX.

2800+ miles per week? Yeah you were talking to a recruiter!

Currently I am an over-the-road driver for u.s. Xpress. If you hustle hard you will average between 2400 and 2800 miles...maybe more, maybe less...won't always be the same every single week because every single day is a new adventure in this industry. The pay scale to start at US Express is I believe $0.33 a mile and then after three months it goes to $0.34 a mile after six months you go to 36 Cents a mile after 9 months you go to $0.39 a mile end at one year you go to 40 cents a mile if you have your Hazmat I believe you get an extra four cents a mile and if you have one full year of safe driving you get an additional .04 to .05 cpm.

Also it varies on pay scale pending what exactly you want to do as far as being an over-the-road driver or going Northeast Regional or doing dedicated. Now remember if you go dedicated you're going to be doing some physical labor on top of the driving which they do pay you for unloading. Being a dedicated driver is the most Financial rewarding in this company with US Xpress unless you are a dedicated trainer. In this company you can make between $1,200 to $1,500 a week if you are a trainer doing dedicated with hazmat and receives the yearly safety bonus of .04 cpm

USX is one of those companies where it is what you make of it. It just depends on what you are willing to do to make money. For ME, Ive got about 18 years total experience, not all of it with USX of course, and I have been a trainer for 8 years, again not all with USX. My checks range from $800 on my home time weeks all the way up to $3000 if the bonuses I make line up and I average between 1600 and 1800. But I also keep my nose clean and get a 5cmp safety bonus that's per mile weekly.

So what are you willing to do?

OH and I don't touch freight. That's what lumpers are for. Ive got better things to spend my 70 on like making money.

90 days in. I make 38 cents dry van. My terminal is in the NE region so I get the bump.
Load and unload pay if the shipper / receiver signs your BOL. FYI, if any sort of prepping, cleaning, chocking or unchocking is in the comments submit an expense report. Need tools, prybars or safety equipment call Breakdown to get a preauthorization. Be cool and professional with your Fleet Manager to get max miles and advice on how to get paid. The FMs paycheck is tied to ours so the better you are the more the FMs will run you. Easy peasy....

Solo I drove 2500-3000 on a good week(Elogs running on recaps lowers your miles)that took a lot of me staying on them about my preplans and staying on top of my PTA(projected time of availability) Teaming on TJ Maxx account we average over 6000 miles a week(if teammate was running low on recaps whoever had more hours would drive while the other did a 34 reset) mostly drop and hook same warehouse for the most part. I left making .40cpm(had to go home for awhile family issue will be returning in October)starting I made .35 cpm. they had a safety bonus of 5 cents each year. I didn't like when they stop the solo bonus for staying out longer which ended FEB 2017
