You can have a fridge installed. They have good fridges, but they are pricey. I just use a pizio cooler.
No APU's as far as I know, even on the newest trucks.
Freightliners and International trucks, older ones are mostly manual, newer mostly automatic.
Every truck I've seen has two hood mirrors, which is very nice for picking up 4-wheelers in blind spots.
Trucks either have Opti-Idle and an Espar Heater, or some weird battery thing in at least some of the older internationals.
Cruise control at 65, pedal at 62. Unless you get a speeding ticket, then they reduce your cruise to 62 for the first ticket, and 60 for the second. (This is recent. Drivers have been getting a lot more speeding tickets since cruise was raised to 65.) -
Current truck has an inverter and Opti-Idle. I run a microwave and have used a small refrigerator from Walmart since last summer without any issues. Apparently all the new trucks will be automatics.
Word is they will be coming with refrigerators installed, but as a new driver you probably won’t start with one of those. A speeding ticket will get you set back to 62 for 90 days.Farmerbob1 Thanks this.
