Did TX recently start requiring a permit of their own?

I run into TX about twice a week from Louisiana & I've not heard of needing a permit. The first thing that came to my mind was that possibly your company dropped some states or only TX from their authority & now you need a trip permit to haul freight in TX. ?????

    Wow that price is high.
I always took a chance on the meat loads out of Corpus Christi going to Safeway in El Paso. Filled the wagon and hammered down. Paid very well. Didn't have the law dogs like you drivers have today.

    SAR and HopeOverMope Thank this.

Grumppy you're ok if load originated outside of Tx. You just can't pickup in Tx and deliver in Tx. Intrastate

    SAR Thanks this.

The highlighted part in the quote is what I was going off of. Into & out of the the state is not intrastate... its interstate.

We do, on rare occasions, run TX intrastate loads, but I don't believe I have a TX DOT number on my truck.
