No, there are differences, but they are between features, mostly, not brands. The big name trucks are all mostly forced to maintain similar quality levels, or the one that slumps and produces junk loses money and market share.

The macroeconomic way to look at truck quality would be a VERY energetic analysis of truck initial sales values, age at resale, mileage at resale, and price at resale. This would also need to consider engine and transmission combinations.

NOT a simple analysis, but it is possible that OOIDA or some other trucking-focused group might have done such an analysis.

Good point. I have a Cascadia. If you have a Columbia or one of the old fashioned square hood types then your cabinets may be different.

    Spoken like a company accountant.
But I do agree, Volvo,Freightliner, uh, what was the other fleet special mentioned? Ya. No difference. Pete and KW are even trying to cash in on that segment. Don’t know what inside one of those looks like, cause I haven’t looked.

I've been hearing some relatively positive things about the new Prostar with the X15. But it's still an International.

I'm more comfortable driving a kenworth but I like the space in the cascadias. And I really liked all the cup holders in the volvo.

I agree that today's trucks are more similar then not. However there are some important differences. Next time you are stuck in a truck stop laid over take a tour around the parking, if you can stand the horrid urine odors. Look at the older tractors you see. By older I mean 5 or 6 years or older. Your not going to see a lot of older freightshakers and you are not going to see a lot of older International anythings. You are going to see 4 primary makes. Petes, KWs and Western Stars followed a bit by Volvos. At least this has been my experience.
