I have now worked for Crete for a few days over 1 year. My hire date was 03/15/17, and the first thing I did was drive 1000 miles to go take several days home time. My first full month of driving was spent almost exclusively in the NE, learning how Shaffer / Crete did things, including trying to follow suggested routes, (which I no longer do, if they are stupid.)
I have provided my W2 and Crete Mileage Report for 2017. Careful observation will reveal that the pay numbers do not match precisely. I am not sure why, but I suspect that it is because a load or two late in the year were reported in 2017, but not actually paid to me until 2018.
Yes, I blacked out some information. I'm not an idiot. I don't mind my name being connected to this forum account, but I don't want my social security number or address public here, thanks.
But there is enough information here for other drivers to see that I made very nearly $50,000 while working 9.5 months with Crete, as a driver starting with 1.25 years experience. Despite the fact that I started a bit slow.
Do some companies pay more? I'm sure some do. But I'm tired of people saying that making $60k per year as a Crete company driver isn't possible. Starting with 1.25 years experience, I was making around $5250 per month on average ($63k per year), including a slow first month with the company. The first couple months was also done in a 62 MPH truck, though I am now in a 65 MPH truck.
Pay at Crete is good for company drivers. Proof inside.

Hey I’m not gonna argue with you if you are happy. That’s awesome. Good job.
bryan21384, ExOTR, Metallica88 and 7 others Thank this. -
Actually that is terrible compensation for the amount of time you spent on the road....to each there own. As with many outfits there is a mindset that you must be married to the trk if you want to make money. In this case a man/women with no life would be a prime candidate .... Good For You If This Is What Brings You Happiness ....... NOT ME !
Drivingotr4life Thanks this. -
