Vegas.
I'm the only original left on the certainteed account. Everyone has synchronized to my schedule. We help each other out on teardown and securement. This is the most teamwork I've ever seen in this industry. We got the heads up that they are auditing our logs soon. And this seems to be a rolling company wide thing from what I've been hearing elsewhere.

DOT safety blitz coming in June, probably preparing drivers to tighten down their logs to prevent problems for the carriers.
FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Thatd make sense. And of course on this account we can expect a new wave of inspections at the super scale on the CA NV border this next quarter. Like freaking clock work. I got pulled in the first day driving this year. I've had 3 level ones at that scale since starting this account. Got the orange sticker, then the white sticker. Now the green sticker.

What color is next?
And does having a sticker actually do anything to help you?FerrissWheel Thanks this. -

Yeller. In CA it's a gurantee leave me alone sticker for 3 months.
Other states won't even inspect you all year. The inspector sees a sticker and just sends you on your way. Typically. -
And also, it helps your RA score. I'm at -9 right now. The dates were just when the physically entered them.
-
Unless of course, you were pulled in for another violation.
-
Minus 9 with 2 preventables.
I'm at plus 3 with one. The trailer caught a data cable that was hung too low. Illegal cable height, but I was to blame.
I think I've been pulled in or over for inspections about 4 times in the last 7+ years.
They have been level 3, or something happened to stop it mid-process.
One time another truck came through that they wanted to inspect more than me, and I was cut loose.
Another time I was pulled over on the highway while carrying a hazmat load.
This is the funny one.
He pulls me to a back street and begins the inspection. Just as it started he got stung by a bee and started to feel ill. It changed real fast to a level 3 and he cut me loose.
And what is the 'tier' level meanings?
Yours was level 3, mine 2.
Kinda funny, but both of ours happened within a month of each other back in 2016.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
1 preventable. But currently 2 points on RA score for it. Cause I've noticed that drop over time.
I never got an answer on the tiers though.
In my case, I was pulling out of a driveway on to a back road somewhere in Ohio. I had came in from the other direction. But I had a load picking up in the opposite direction. I quickly discovered I would hit the mail box turning left, cause I came in from the right.
Long story short I made progressively wider turns. Got a little two far off the shoulder, my right steer tire sank almost to the bloody hub in the mud and broke a signifigant amount of front bumper off.
Only thing I damaged was the truck, didn't need a tow, maybe that's it. Funny thing is, it was going to be several days till that got fixed, and that's how I ended up in the T680 till I switched to flats. They let me keep my mentor status. Which at the time I felt lower than dirt, cause I had a student in the truck when it happened. He was probably my best ever though.

It was a lucky thing that I did not get home on the requested date.
I told my daughter, Leann, who is living with us now, that we would go to the crystal caves in Wisconsin on my next home time. We've never been there and it seemed a cool idea.
We got on the website yesterday and found out that the first day they are open this season will be 03/31, Friday.
If I had made it home last Sunday my home time would have been over before they re-opened.
I'll make it home Friday afternoon and we'll go to the caves on Saturday.FerrissWheel Thanks this.
