REST Bill Would Modify HOS to Allow Drivers One Three-Hour Break Per Shift

They already have a thread. They’re cheering they may get to work 17 hour days.

Lawmaker introduces common sense hos proposal..

 

They way i read it is if you stop for a 3 hour nap to bypass rush hour it doesn't eat 3 hours out of your day. Most drivers I know would call that trip planning, you know the answer we get every time we say we don't like elds. But thats old trucker sense so im sure that doesn't work any more because you know technology is great.

 

That will turn into "Driver go take your nap and 3 hours from now we will unload you."

And the old school will shrug their shoulder and say "that is trucking".

Find it pretty astonishing folks would volunteer for longer days.

 

Well the job I had before I started trucking a couple times each spring I'd end up on the clock for 36 hours straight.

Didn't pay real great it's a good job for somebody who's just out of high school and is interested in maybe doing trucking. It was hauling flowers for a local greenhouse operation with a pickup and 44foot car trailer

 

That’s a lot of flowers or a meth operation
