I'm not gonna say that A Duie Pyle is the best LTL outfit out there...nor the worst...but you will make a good paycheck with them though. I think $70-80k + is what you can expect to make. Only thing I ever heard about them is that they run you HARD. If they offer both a Pension and a 401k, even better for you, but I always thought they were Non Union though. Don't know about they're Pension plan, but 401k I think is about 3% match. Plus they have they're own training academy too, for students that want to start off Local. But overall, they seem like a good company to work for and from what I've seen, they have some decent equipment too.

One can certainly do worse than Pyle.
Their drivers that run to my territory out of Westchester start early, so if you get a long run you’ll have a good start time. -
i do believe too, that Pyle linehaul drivers work the docks, both outgoing freight, and thier drop off/switch out points.
THEN, time permitting, they go to the next stop, or bunk down for the 10 hours.
i do believe all Pyle terminals have a bunk room, very clean and well kept.
as i recall, this is what i was told when i had my interview. -
Bunk nah screw that either I'm home or they better get me a hotel room I'm not sleeping like that like jail.jfred2 Thanks this. -
I see them all the time around NYC, West Chester, PA is printed on their doors. I assume they must do a fair amount of work in the city and up and down the NJTP, if that’s a deterrence.

I actually have an interview with them today. Talked to the manager the other day and this is what I know so far.
They are NON Union.
They contribute 25% up to the first 12% of your contribution.
They closed their Pension but created a new Pension which matches your 401K account ( details are sketchy )
Family benefits are 55/week
For my terminal and position I applied for ( Line Haul ) average hours are 50 - 60 per week
22.25/hour
top rate 26.?? after 2 years
Overtime after 45.
Line Haul drivers get assigned trucks but might be used for P&D during the day.
Monday thru Friday 8 paid holidays.
Run a daycab but usually stay out twice a week. They provide a hotel or you stay in a BunkHouse.
I really don't want to leave my current job but they been messing with my truck and runs lately. Many other issues at my account so I figure I would test the waters. I'll keep you posted. -
Well this looks like a great place to work. Spoke with the manager for about 3 hours, went on a road test. P&D guys get 21.50 per hour. Basically drive and maybe a little forklift driving. If I worked here when I was 25 I would have retired here. I don't think I can adjust to nights. If you like driving at night and love your weekends and holidays off then this place is for you.
