Ok I learned to be a trucker with a 10 speed great school I still feel like I can do it... but I've been driving only an automatic for over a year... now I'm starting with a company that is manual transmission and on top of that flatbed.. in my mind I'm thinking this will be better in the long run but I'm also thinking #### what if I stall it or miss a gear on the road test?! Am I making a bad decision?
Is manual transmission like riding a bike?

Tell them up front.
Be honest. "I can drive it.. but I've been in an Auto for awhile. This might be bumpy for a minute".
I'd rather hear that and expect it than wonder what's going on.
10spd is no biggie.
Hear your engine.. make smooth shifts... 2,3,4,5.. flip it.. 6-10
Easy peasy.
Don't over think it.Brickwall, Farmerbob1, SingingWolf and 7 others Thank this. -
Once you get assigned your truck work on learning how to float gears.
Me, I'll never, ever drive a truck without a 13 or 18 speed.
Good luck...not sure if I could even double clutch now..haven't done it since school almost 2 years ago.Brickwall and Drivingotr4life Thank this.
