There are too many variables to give you a good answer. Most new drivers work for a mega carrier for the first couple of years, and they pay pretty low. My first year was somewhere south of $35,000 and by the time you figured health insurance deductions, taxes, and some weeks with low miles, I had some paychecks that wound up at $400 for an entire week. That's why I left the mega carriers.

$150,000 a year. No trucker makes less. Please read the memo.

I chose what is a very good job. I’m in my fourth month.
Nothing I was promised has come true.
    Working part time.
Will still make $50k at least.
    Last week: $2k
    This week:$500
Next week: at least $1k...Heading out on this one in the morning.

So many variables on take home pay, benefits costs vary, as do state and local taxes, then throw in some other variables, such as managing your hours. May want to post where you live, and what company do you plan on starting with, or looking at. Even megas pay differently, so comparing Swift to Stevens is apples to oranges.

Ok, why do so many ask what people make after taxes? Do theynot understand that everyone's take home is different because everyone's tax liability is different? I have 4 exemptions, my liability is lower than most, but yours might be lower, or higher than mine. Do yourself a favor and stop asking what drivers make after taxes, ask what a drivers average gross is, you should know what your tax liabilities based on that.

I am making 53-54k gross take home $840ish consistently. This week a little more I worked 7 days as a driver quit. I might break 1k this week. I'm home daily start route around 6am finished by 4pm..... usually. I have had my CDL about 1 year 6 months. 36k for otr at a mega, not sure why anyone would stay with that any length of time but that's my opinion. I guess I have it pretty good. I'm a milk tanker driver and work for Walton milk hauling in case you didn't know.
