    It's worse.

One company hung a full set of cable chains on my exhaust stack. If you think about those cabling across the tires with tiny rollers on them.... forget it. I never touched them that year.

Dodging winter storms was my stragety along with staying on 40 where possible.

When it is NOT possible to dodge storms in WY I brought along a camera. Got some pictures here and there.

FFE did not put ANY chain on the truck anywhere. So, major storm? Massive qualcomm messaging essentially saying RUN! FLEE! etc. HA.

And you wonder why I pay attention to the National Weather everyday. You had to in order not to get caught in trouble.

Trying to remember where US 287 connects to I-80. I've never taken that route, but I have seen it pop up every now and then in Google.

Comes into Rawlins from the NW, follows 80 to Laramie and heads SE to Denver. The port of entry on 287 after Laramie is only concerned with Northbound so don't stop if your going south "SE".

If I80 scares you, you'll crap bricks on I90. I80 and I90 in winter is just like driving a truck,it's not for everyone.

When I have 30k+ in the box, I will go 80 rather than 70. Due to the extreme grades on 70 west of Denver, its a little faster and less stressful on the truck.

The weather on 80 dosn't bother me in the slightest, it's just the main artery of bunbleheads that may have no experience on the snow and can't think enough to turn off the cruise.
I'd rather take 90, even with the freezing rain, in the spring/fall as there isn't as much traffic.
