I actually seen another company driver with a violation of that part about the seatbelt from Ohio. I never was able to confirm this but he said his fine was almost $1500. Another reason I always thought hauling hazmat was a pain in the butt.

There was a driver reporting on these forums years ago about how they put the shipping papers in a folder and put that folder in the door pouch. Violation because the officer could not clearly see the papers and said how could first responders know where the papers were if they are hidden in a folder.
IluvCATS Thanks this. -
I have, in a former life stopped and removed my placards to go through Eisenhower tunnel rather than take Loveland Pass in a blizzard. No thanks.

Ours are in a plastic sleeve. For tankers, first responders would initially go by the numbers on the placards. I know that the door slammers sometime don't have the numbers on their placards.

And rumor has it if you get pulled into a scale and they say to bring in your papers to leave a copy of the bol in the door pouch.
I don’t k ow if it’s true that they’ll cite you or notRedRover Thanks this. -
Lol now that’s funny. I admit that sounds like stupid something I might think up.

Careful.
The PA Turnpike is one place where this is known to happen, and calls have a way of being made to 911 if you’re seen flipping placards.RedRover Thanks this. -
I actually got a level 2 today in Oregon. Of course I passed. Load securement correct, papers correct, placards right, and I had my ERG book right there when he asked. BTW he barely looked at my ELD, which he skimmed over the prior 8-day log, nothing in depth. My bicycle securement even passed.

I ran it once placarded flammable on a rainy day.
I didn’t feel like going around.
ssshhhhRedRover Thanks this.
