Ugh! I hate seeing these posts! We should be respected out here and our hometime should be important to everyone! I can take time off whenever I need too... I do my job well and my personal time needs to be respected as well as my work time I put in.

I think what Dave is saying is that he has to get the truck serviced on his home time and that shouldn't count or he should be able to get the truck serviced after his home time. I could be wrong. I got lost.

Well it sounds like a financial problem. Truck is suposed to be serviced by the box monkeys when your stopped. If you can’t afford to get a set of box monkeys, then you really have problems.

Maybe you can hire someone to take care of your hometime stuff befor you get home Then you won't need so much hometime.

Wow Dave can’t afford maintenance? He seemed a little bit ####y lately. I’m saddened to hear this.

Look Dave I am going to give it to you straight. Dog food loads and bottled water loads are tough on a truck. Dog food loads contain corn, and you need water to mix with cornmeal batter to make corn dogs, you also need water to make Starbucks. What do cats drink? Water.

So the impending maintenance your truck requires also helps you to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. The Elog has been hard on us all. I used to drive around aimlessly until I stumbled upon the shipper/receiver redoing my paper logs if necessary. I was also fatigued, was it due to dehydration or not having a mandatory 30 minute break? I honestly can’t say.

One day in the near future, you will have an autonomous truck you can dispatch with an APP. Then your hometime issues will be resolved, and maintenance will be a thing of the past. Until then, truck it up.
