I didn't read the comments and someone may have mentioned it but... They don't want trucks to sit, they don't make money sitting. Especially big companys that like to bean count. It's cheaper for them to let you sit than a truck with a trainer sit. It's all about the money.

They will walk on you if you let them. Sometimes you need to be a squeaky wheel when you have a valid issue. Sometimes you need to go up the ladder to get some action, but always keep your cool, just explain the facts and stay professional. Don't go postal, and you will make progress through the red tape.

Thats trucking get used to it. Everybody has their own game . Lies after lies.
I work for a tiny mom and pops company. They pay 35hr detention at reciever and shipper most companies pay at reciever only. And good luck getting it. Multi stops that take more than 1 day to complete additional 350.00 i cant name 1 company in 28yrs that ever paid that kinda money to a driver. Detention is based on time in and out on qcomm. Paid following week automatic. Alot not all will pay when they get paid and you will never know if they got paid . its a game to some its called screw the driver.
Good companies pay regardless because they care about their employess including their drivers. Notice i said employess and drivers to me a driver is an employee but youll find they never refer to you as a employee only a driver . Weird imo

If i was new probably go dry van . Reefer loads are ok but you have weird ours constantly being woke up in middle of the night at recievers lumpers want paid beating on your door. Multi stops which you will have alot of complicates and interupts sleep x5. Its a major pain in the rear if you dont like your sleep being interupted reefer definitely not for you. I been doing reefer for 15yrs i do it because of xtra money as a o/o thats it .
Go with mega company find a truck you like at end of the day companies are all the same some have nice colors some dont . In a nutshell theyre all the same. Schneider JB stick with them get a 401k . They been in business for decades havent filed for bankruptcy.

I worked for those clowns in they 90s he (Russ Gottemeier) owner used to screw the drivers bad. Sure he has changed since then. But says alot about how a company treated their drivers over the yrs to get where they are now. They seem to be a good company now but who knows i live in the area dont here to much about them anymore so maybe its all good now.

Do you smoke or not? The way it's written it seems you smoke and you want a trainer that smokes?

I apologise if I misunderstand you.

My trainer didn't smoke so I didn't smoke in her truck.

If you don't smoke I understand that too. Being a health issue the company should accommodate you the non smoker.

    Good Luck!
