Unless you have managed to develop a mythical semi truck engine that can maintain the speed limit at gross weights, i think you're startin stretching your driving abilities.
The two hour break doesn't stop the clock. It still hits you're 14. By the way op, you drive like that and you will be put out of service with the cop who won't care how you figure it.
no, but at the competition of an 8 moves it, you just can't exceed 14 on either side of your 8's. Done it on 3 different elog systems, works every time. (It's why I stop my drive time at 5)
You can actually start each day about 2 hours earlier than the previous... .25 pre and post trips 11 driving .25 fuel .50 for 30 min break 12 hours total +10 off = next shift begins about 2 hours before previous one Yes you can still cover 800 miles per 24 hour period running like this. Easy way to check just look at mileage on odometer at 9 am daily. After a lot of running like this it does take a toll on the body however.. If you're still young and raring to go - run like this and maybe even try to schedule your runs so you can do resets while under load. Resetting while under load ensures minimum legally required time to stop for reset. If the loads allow for it....
You just nailed it. This goes back to other topics and threads. As a trucker your biggest obstacle is NOT the FMCSA. It is how a state enforcement officer interprets the rules. The minute you start getting out on these fringe rules and living out there you open yourself up to this nightmare. A DOT cop places you OOS. It don't matter a witt what you do later. You still were OOS until you were released. I tagged this reply because I just got a phone call from a friend. He checks up on me most every morning. One of his drivers is OOS RIGHT NOW in New Mexico with a load due in California tomorrow night. Now the driver is NOT OOS because of this. He is OOS because his elog device is not working properly and he did not report it. He got his logs checked and they popped him.
1. Work on percentage 2. Haul good paying freight 3. Do 1 and 2 and do not worry about hos you should be fine 4. You will be driving less for more
Like gokiddogo states. Running like this can ware you out. Plan your breaks also. Relax, wait for the money to appear. Than do it again.
