I'm currently a flatbed company driver but looking to start leasing on next year to get my feet wet. My ultimate goal is to have my own truck and tralier with my own authority. Are there any flatbed owner ops with there own authority on this forum? Is the money good? Is it worth it? Any tips or tricks?

I’m sure there are a number of us on here. Your questions are very difficult to answer though. The money and if it’s worth it have many variables involved. I don’t find the money to be quite where I’d like (but really, who doesn’t want to make more?), but it was well worth it for me opposed to leasing on or driving someone else’s truck.

Some goals I'm hoping to accomplish with my authority is: netting six figures (if maintenance is low and freight is availible), running the midwest and southeast (no otr unless the load is paying out the ###)
