Should I wait until a year or try before then?

If it's been 5 months between BOTH CRST and Werner, I'd advise you hone your chops for another 7 months before jumping ship again. Patience, grasshopper.
And avoid the Dollar General . . . . at least for now. I have pictures. Local pictures. Wrecker involved.CrappieJunkie, QuietStorm, Brickwall and 1 other person Thank this. -
I just know jb hunt has been calling me at least 1 to 3 times a month since February but not sure how good they're
-
No better, and possibly a bit worse
CrappieJunkie and QuietStorm Thank this. -

I was going to call them tomorrow to see if somehow I could get hired because they want that year
-
They probably will cut some slack because now they say they're hiring drivers with "little experience."
-
What about that small outfit up there, Brown Dog Carriers?
They "prefer" one year experience and there's no mention of one year experience "required."
WesternPlains Thanks this. -
Is the dog included with the truck? Cuz if so...WesternPlains, Woodys and Chinatown Thank this.

It certainly helps to have a year under your belt, but I know how some places can screw you over and make it impossible to stay. My first job was with a mega, and after 4 months of great mileage at low pay, my checks were shrinking as my runs slowed down. By the time I was only making $400 a week and being gone 3 weeks at a time after 6 months with the company, I was either going to change jobs or quit driving. Wound up going with a small 2 truck outfit that paid a flat $50k a year salary, which at the time looked great compared to what I was making. Shortly after taking that job I discovered that I would be driving 11 hours a day, and spending another 4-6 hours loading and unloading my own truck. I was determined to stay there 6 months so I could get my year and I did. On the last day of the 6th month I told my boss to go F himself. He was a real piece of work. Then I hired on with a regional outfit for a year, and now I'm in the process of getting a new truck/trailer and becoming an O/O with my own authority with only 2 years of driving experience. Some say not enough, but I say it's either this or I'm out. Too many employers treat drivers as sub-human, and I refuse to put up with it any longer.
Njhandofdoom and taodnt Thank this.
