Oregon is one of the best states that we run in. The scale and DOT people will work with you if they have any leeway at all.
But, if you try to run a game on them or try to hand them a whole bunch of attitude they also have some of the most severe penalties.
I got fired and have a question

Oh this guy was nice too, we were just chatting and he was showing me his software for ELD's. When I asked what something was on the graph he told me.x1Heavy Thanks this.

Most cops are. Most cops are also pretty good at spotting dangerous people, because that's part of their training.
The bad cops, or good cops having bad days are the ones that hurt the reputation of the other 95% of law enforcement. -
I have read information on GPS tracking. There are tracking sensors that are so sensitive that they will pick up the slightest vibration or movement. I don't think 'creeping' down the road will go undetected. My gut tells me that that the big picture is HOS are being watched very closely for many reasons. Money. When in doubt follow the money trail. It's easy for big companies to keep Truckers salaries 'in-check' by willy-nilly enforcement of EDL reporting. In theory our technology will come to a point whereby at the end of a driving month they will add up your speeding violations, weight violations, HOS violations and deduct the fines from your paycheck :-/ Just Google search 'SX1 satellite' 'trilateration' 'military specification' Basically the check or ping will retrieve your location truck/cargo/trailer within 5 meters and report back longitude, latitude, and altitude at the speed of light. It is a system that cannot be defeated unless you go through every square inch of your load or truck or whatever the case may be in your situation. "Ground Control to Major Tom" ;-Dtaodnt Thanks this.

I dunno about others, but putting the blame on someone else would be a big red flag to me if I was hiring this person. Take ownership, tell them you needed to use a restroom or something and had to drive to the truck stop. Explain you didn't think it was going to be an issue like that.
Lying about doing something dumb that gets you fired is a no go.. Having a reasonable excuse for doing it is a much diffrent game..
Personally, I think it's ridiculous you'd get fired for that but I'd guess there is more to the story. Regardless no need to lie, just have a reasonable explanation.REO6205 Thanks this. -
I like how all the drivers on here that have never had to sit thru an audit think that all of the couple miles here and couple of minutes there don't matter.
REO6205 Thanks this. -
Amen to that. We've had ELDs for a couple of years now and our loose-leaf logbook days are way in the past but I still get a knot in the pit of my stomach thinking about audits.KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this.

your telling him too lie also. sound like a total church goer

He said he drove to a truck stop.. How do you know he didn't need to use the restroom? In fact what are the odds he didn't use the restroom..

The best lies are the ones you tell without lying.
