Wow! How deep were you in the search function to find this one? I don't know much about transmissions but when this thread was created I'm pretty sure they were still using the ox and cart.

And camoking hasn't been on here since the day after this thread started.

Don't know what really happened with the OP's truck, but when he said it stuck in gear it rang a bell.
I drove a first generation autoshift at USX back in 99 & going through Joplin Missouri I got stuck in gear off & on. I drove all the way down to the terminal in OKC & when I had to stop at the guard shack it stuck in a high gear again and they had to drag it to the shop. Since USX had a 24hr shop, they spent the night fixing it & I was back on the road the next day
Sometimes you would be making a turn & it would just go to a random gear & you would have to shut off the truck for a few minutes & reboot.
The looks on peoples faces was priceless. -
So you lost your breaks coming down a mountain grade.... you didn’t know there’s been thousands of drivers who made it down those same grades without wrecking or losing the breaks? You were never trained to start down those grades at a reduced speed, in low gear and with the engine break to control it? Or even check the condition and adjustment of those brakes during your pre-trip or before starting down the hill?
If the transmission was really that screwed up you should refused to drive it. No company can legally force you to drive a truck if the transmission, brakes, etc are in an unsafe condition. If the shop or breakdown told you verbally to keep driving it like that and you didn’t record it then you won’t have any evidence they told you that unless it was over the Qualcomm.
It’s obvious that is still a preventable wreck and any company would’ve put that on your record, regardless if the cops cited you or not.Need4Speed Thanks this.
