Lol I wanted to get that lift axle installed and was wondering where u got urs for the trailer I found one with install for $1500 on trailer. So I called the trailer guy n explained to him I'm not welding or cutting it bolts up with the current holes. He said unless it's paid off no but I can use a strap or chain to lift the axle if I wanted too.
Fuel is gonna keep going up so now I figure it's the best time to get this installed... I got 2 choices here just get it bolted up or try to grab a loan for the trailer lol

I know it's a bit of a pain in the giblets, but why not go the more frugal route of using a strap or chain to save the fuel money until the trailer is paid off without taking a loan? Taking out a 3rd party loan to pay off Mercer just so you can have permission to spend even more money doesn't make much sense to me. Just saying.back street slider, Klleetrucking and p608 Thank this.

The trailer guy is an fn idiot. He had absolutely no understanding of mechanical things. Or he thinks some idiot is going to burn an axle up by lifting it when fully loaded. If you plan on keeping the trailer then just do it. If you quit and turn the trailer back in (which would be stupid, youve been paying on it a long time at this point) then unbolt it and stick in your garage for the next trailer you buy.Highway Sailor, TruckerPete1990 and Home_on_wheels Thank this.

Because if the chain or strap snaps it's gonna take things with it lol. Plus who wants to craw under the truck when it's pouring lol

Sometimes it's best to beg for forgiveness, than to ask for permission.

I found a rebuild kit for 3k might buy one while I'm up here lol

If you are mechanically inclined, you can put a bolt on lift axle kit for around $500 in parts. Around $400ish for the lift parts and add a lift valve and plumb it in. I was looking to do this too.

this is a bolt on kit. not sure if this is the exact application but it's an example of whats out there. -

What would a new clutch cost? Can that be replaced in a day?
