Getting rid of manuals because not many drivers left. It seems like the whole trucking industry has just fell off the map. Are cdl driving test in mauals now?
It seems carriers want the easiest possible trucks to drive, for the laziest drivers. I see this not going very long as major carrier profits will continue to slump unless they keep eating up smaller carriers. And small carriers running the same business model as large carriers, and same rules are just going to lose. They can not profit long off that numbers game. This is all going to lead to a lot of money being put towards autonomous driving trucks. What do I know I'm just a driver from the class of 08. And I'm done with this in 30 days unless I get fired. Ranting because I am up late and the ambian is kicking in.

 

Are you also paranoid about "What if I just swerved this steering wheel all the way to the left going down this highway right now?"

I thought something like that going over a bridge on i80 when i was a company driver. I don't have the stomach for suicide.

 

It's not about suicide; it's a somewhat shockingly common phenomenon called Call of the Void. (What if I just did X crazy thing right now?)

 

Manuals are only for guys who can't stop playing with their sticks.

 

Right or we just want to drive a truck not an 18 wheel prius.

 

If you have to get out and look to line the pin up after you've been driving more than three months you've got issues.
