Well I can tell you all about the paccar mx 455 nightmares!!!!! I bought 2 of them and they started out great. Fuel mileage was awesome but lacking pulling power on hills. Well then came the DOC/DPF/SCR problems, sensor problems, injectors, and so on and so on. I have one that has been in and out of the shop monthly since March of 2016.... Warranty has CAPPED out on it and will pay no more. Never Never will I ever buy another paccar. Good luck trying to find someone who can even work on it.

OEM Warranty will keep paying until the warranty expires providing the failure in warrantable. Unless of course this is an aftermarket third party warranty - in which case, that's no ones fault but the purchaser of the warranty for not understanding the terms of the warranty.

I think you have to take the motor out to replace cams at least what I have been told as they slide out from the back. Sounds like an expensive pain to me.

I’m looking at a 2014 kw with paccar 454 has 331000 miles on it. Low miles for the year I asked the dealer ship if they could tell me if engine ever had any major issues are repeating issues and the told me they had no way of knowing that. Said they bought off paccar and it was a lease truck. Could I contact paccar and give them the vin number and they give me the history of the engine.also so the dealer does warranty work for kw so I think the can tell me the history. If any one has any input I would appreciate the advice.
