Enough time? I think so.
Outside the city I am fine.
35, would be willing to leave in a heartbeat if there was a future in it.
What else can I do with a CDL?

You could use it in the spikes of a bicycle tire so it makes a cool noise when riding down the street

I don't know if driving a straight is gonna be any less stressful. If anything...you'll probably have to deal with even MORE traffic...because of the fact your not pulling a '53...sending you to places where big rigs can't go to. Ever see what these guys have to deal with....
Stress free? Nope...Easy? Ha. See some of the places they have to deliver to?... dragging around BIG packages...dog attacks...no A/C (except for FedEx)...dog attacks...double parked...always in a rush...in rain, sleet, snow...did I mention dog attacks?...yada yada yada. Money is great...like over $100k great (UPS and USPS)...but not worth it IMO.x1Heavy and Truckdrivingtrailerpuller Thank this. -
I started out doing armored trucks in Orange county and la ....I guess I was too young and stupid to realise it was supposed to be stressfull it's all about how you look at it

Wait until you hook to a 20 foot Seacan box weighing 55,000 pounds on a triaxle chassis. The entire rig being well overweight. And really TIPPY to boot.
THAT is a anchor. 53's are sweethearts you can put a 53 anywhere. It's the little ones you gotta watch carefully.
For god's sake whatever you do don't run for Amazon. They will run you into the dirt and replace you with someone younger and faster. Until they too are replaced.
If you hate the city now, go west young man. No cities to speak of. HA. In fact you will find a number of them wide enough to turn a 6 horse and stagecoach team right there across main street.
Oh and one final thing you can do with that CDL. Get a "Sir" out of that police officer who just pulled you over for something really stupid today. -
Equipment delivery for a rental shop. Seems like a good mix of driving and yard work. A lot of those places have tractor trailers, straight trucks and smaller deck trucks.
singlescrewshaker and x1Heavy Thank this.
