Drivers don't get sick days. Especially in team environments. One driver running on his/her teammates hours is very common.

The bible citation makes it ok to put it in writing.

Now cut them some slack, kids in Cali can't even have plastic straws anymore.

    Actually no.

In our experience we lost a few days now and then when one of us got sick. I remember we lost three days in Plainview Texas when spouse got sick, so we stayed put bringing in food, fluids and a limited amount of medicines etc while she rested and our landing gear down. We did not go a inch anywhere until day 4 came and she said that she is ok now.

Dispatch had no problem with that then. Its the same for me Ive gotten sick which created a problem with the team unable to function until I got better or was released from the hospital.

Most of the time when I got sick as a solo, dispatch has been accommodating. If you are really sick your strongest motive is to head home. And usually dispatch will call there and check and see what's up. Or if it is a bad enough fever or ER trip everything is usually on hold until that's resolved. When I was 21 I lost two days unable to get better. I went home overnight and was in surgery to remove the appendix. It was no longer a firing problem under a ruined load and more of a waiting issue until the time to get back to work. Docs did not allow less than 6 weeks, I was back on the road within 3. I can sympathies with the customer who never got their load that week. There was a lot of trouble then.

It is not good when a company disregards you or your team mate being sick. That's not a very good idea to try and roll a semi when you do not have clarity being sick or break the law running outside of your own HOS restrictions.

I'm not saying Big M is good, but you haven't seen many trucking outfits if you think they are the worst.
