just curious. what's this load pay ?
Woodchuck88 and Lepton1 Thank this. -
No. Seattle Port Ternimal. Generally railcars.
That goes to Prince Rupert First then to Anchorage. Alaska Railroad takes over for Fairbanks within a day.
For you.... Reload into a shipping container, domestic. Hire the Alaska Railroad to get that box into Fairbanks.
All of that should be less than the rate you charged your shipper. You should make a nice profit. -
If it was more effective to ship by rail they would ship by rail and never call a trucking company. Yes rail is cheaper than trucks, but it is not as fast.homeskillet Thanks this. -
NUNYA!!nax, Lepton1 and spyder7723 Thank this.

It was forty five years ago when I drove it both way and it was January. I do know that (at least back then) if you drove the Alcan Hwy when it was not covered with snow you can kiss your windshield and headlights goodby. At least in winter the road is smother and you can save about 40 miles going across Teslan lake.
Good luck and take some pictures. -
I just began a new thread about the trip.

Yep, that's my first thought.
My immediate second thought is, "Hope there's a backhaul!" I understand it's difficult getting a backhaul, especially with a dry van. So that load better pay REALLY WELL to be able to deadhead back and still be profitable.mustang190 Thanks this. -
Have some warmer clothes and pack as many groceries as you can before you leave Washington to get you there and back. I think the mosquitoes should be about done for the season.
