That's a good question....he obviously didn't do a pretrip, but this should be a lesson regardless. Bad things can happen if you don't check out your truck and do a good pretrip

 

Where on the elog do you note bum under truck/trailer?

 

In the notes. The elog may have kicked the driver into drive time and when he felt an unusual bump, he had to go back off duty, but seeing how this is a "bum under truck/trailer" issue, he may need to go on duty hahaha

 

On our pipe jobs we'd often find homeless people keeping their belongings and their persons inside the pipe pilings overnight. One incident where we were about the pick the pipe up with the crane and a homeless guy came crawling out screaming and then we had to check the pipe front to back side to side and top to bottom before each pick.

 

Think I’ll start doing my nighttime pretrips with super bright flashlight. Person laying just right won’t be easily visible in sum of those dark lots. I feel for that poor trucker

 

Put in under “Outside Party Delay” if he’s late to delivery.
