I used to take loads up to Calgary. The welcome (to cross border account) packet my motor carrier gave me, one of the chapters was on In Bond blah blah blah type stuff, the biggest thing I noticed was mistakes with the In Bond paperwork could generate fines up to $100,000 bucks. So I always made sure to avoid any load leaving the US, entering Canada and returning to the US with the same load due to the risk of In Bond paperwork problems.

haha, the last time I had to deal with them I sat in customs in Windsor for 12 hours waiting for them to get their crap together. It took all but five minutes to fix by a guy who they just hired, the girls in the office didn't give a crap because it was Friday.

Times have changed. It used to be FedEx was the "go to" method of sending shipping documents back in the '80's'. By around 2000 US Customs started allowing pdf's. That was a big cost savings when I was in the import business.
I think OP may need to print his documents. The US Customs has printed them for my brother and I when we didn't have the documents before getting to the border. Otherwise try sending them by email to a truck stop to print before you get to the border. Best yet have a printer in the truck.Sirscrapntruckalot and fargonaz Thank this. -
I can't find the video I saw of a trucker parked in the road, waiting for a bull moose to get out of the way. He finally blew his air horn.
What a mistake.
The moose thrashed that trucker's hood with his hooves, then got down and used his antlers to put some exclamation marks on the drivers door and fuel tanks.
Just be perfectly patient if a moose decides he owns the road. -
And coming back,if you cross at Coutts, you can park at the truck parking area between the scale and the border.
Right next door is Smugglers bar and grill. If ya talk nice to Shelly the bartendress, she will leave the wi-fi on so you can print off your ACE manifest to get back into the states.Last edited: Aug 24, 2018

Wow. We are all eagerly awaiting tales of moose attacks and bear wrestling and you are banging your head on the wall waiting for bureaucrats....
Sirscrapntruckalot, Lepton1 and tucker Thank this. -
Are you there yet? I just know he is gonna be late with that doggone freight!

You're almost as bad as the last Driver manager I had... He "helped" me make the decision to go O/O.
Aamcotrans and thelushlarry Thank this. -
Don't be blaming the CBSA for his lack of knowledge and not having his ducks in a row. He probably should have done some research before booking the load and realizing by travelling through a foreign country there might be a couple extra steps involved.
We always complain of not being treated like professionals. Right there is a perfect example of making it harder for people who do those runs consistently, because it makes us all look like flakes.CellNet, uncleal13, andrewsdad and 4 others Thank this. -
