You should be a script writer. Story after story. Or author a book on how to become filthy rich owning and driving a tractor trailer. Since you are the real deal.

Midnight, you just got into the groove but when things dry up for a while, and then scraping by the sub-par loads, then what will you say?

For the OP. It sounds you and the wife are running a team truck. You said wife and I, from that one gets team.

I run as a solo driver. My weekly average is running right about $6700 to the truck. My net take home to the bank is 1800 to 2100 depending on the week.
Yes it floats a bit because of unload/ paper work to the office.

    snowlauncher and laaylor Thank this.

Money isn’t everything, especially when you factor in having to pay yourself a salary after all the overhead.

If the engine in the truck I am driving decides to fail my cash stays in my bank account.

Don't get me wrong, owning my own truck is something I plan on doing some day, but I'll take my time getting there, to minimize risks.
