4 axles on tractor both sets, plus one on trailer aft axle right outside. Plus two sets extra. (We carried 8)
If you get into B trains, doubles, rocky doubles and so on, then the chain rules vary.
Make sure you have spares for those chains, chain tools, rubber binders and so on. The small parts. Keep a box of it. Throw them on sometime now before you actually have to play break the rust under the rig across the interstate 3 months from now.
I carried a set of 4 austrian ice chains on my tahoe each winter. I'll be tossing them on again to see how they are. It's been a while.IluvCATS Thanks this. -
We were based in UT and always had snow chains on the truck never had to use them though cause i always arrived on the mountain pass after the snow plough had been through and sanded and salted the road. So i'd add UT, MT, and ID to the list.
