Well I bounced from Denver to here after bringing a high dollar hazmat to Denver from Vegas. I could burn yesterday and today but tomorrow I'll have to get with it a bit more.

Usually I can pick up something nice out of Tulsa or KC but those particular loads have dried up.

 

Tulsa area has sucked big time last couple of months... Very rare to see anything out of that area anymore it seems.. When i leave from the house thats my normal go to area but not so much anymore:/

 

I reserved a spot tonight which I'll do maybe once a month if I'm going to be working late. I pull in to a overfilled to capacity truck stop, I knew it would be as I come here a lot. Pull up to the reserved spots which all are taken... Uh oh, some ones fixing to get booted...

Manager comes out checks all trucks, Mr reefer is in my spot. Claims hes out of hours and cant move. Dude for one no one cares about your hours, for 2 you been sitting at the cold storage warehouse down the road all day in the dock playing Nintendo... I've been working untarping and tarping loads today . Move it or loose it.

You can look at the app and see all spots are sold for tonight, Does he really think hes gonna slip through the cracks and no ones gonna notice? Get the hell out of my spot...

 

Did you have to get off 70 with that hazmat before the tunnel in Colorado and take that hazmat route? I did that once, LOL that was enough... I ain't doing that again, that road sucks...

 

Yeah I guess I'll have stay east longer to make up for it.

 

US 6 up and over Loveland Pass? Yeah. It doesn't bother me so long as it isn't covered in snow.

 

Ya, I did it when it was snowing several years ago. I've never been on US 6 again.

 

Yeah that was my last run from the West. Got up and over before this most recent snow by a few hours.

Honestly Monarch is about the only pass I've come across that bothers me. There's nothing for miles in either direction so if something does go wrong it will take hours for help to arrive.

 

I never feel bad for those people. Either the asked to pay and were told they were booked up and parked in it anyway, or didn't even ask amd just shagged into it regardless. With HOS and ELD being as they are today, everyone should have a good idea of where they will end up for the night. I don't like paying for parking either, but sometimes it's the only safe choice.

I usually pay for a spot once a week.

 

I had the same thing happen to me Saturday night at the TA in downtown Nashville. The security guard identified the culprit, but even after that it took quite a while before he finally moved. It seems that people have zero respect these days.
