Maybe cut up a thin rubber mat to fit in the bottom of each well? Should cut down on the vibration that is allowing the straps to unroll.
Of course individual bands around each are likely better...

Good idea with the rubber bottom. I'd just have to cut holes for water to drain.

Honestly I think most guys need it, I rarely see a box less than 80% full, and usually a mess.snowman_w900, 6mmrem, Tug Toy and 1 other person Thank this. -

I don’t need rubber bands as my straps spend more time on a load than they do in the box.

I have 2 18x18 inch boxes one on each side and I carry 18 straps in each plus a winder and 4 portawinches I also carry my coil racks on top of one of thease boxes my 60 inch boxes hold 3 24 foot tarps and 2 lumber tarps I also got a 48 inch box that holds all my corners my pipe stakes and 6 4 inch ratchet straps I like to be prepared and organized
Tug Toy Thanks this. -
@6mmrem has made excellent use of space in ONE box. His efforts MOTIVATED me to finally organize my mess after reluctantly buying another box.
By the sounds of it, you have 5 boxes. Good for you. Personally I think tarps are a waste of a tool box, I strap mine on the deck and PRAY someone steals them . . . but normally I’d keep that opinion to myself.
