Maybe cut up a thin rubber mat to fit in the bottom of each well? Should cut down on the vibration that is allowing the straps to unroll.
Of course individual bands around each are likely better...

Good idea with the rubber bottom. I'd just have to cut holes for water to drain.

    We MUST over engineer!!

Honestly I think most guys need it, I rarely see a box less than 80% full, and usually a mess.

That is a complete wast of space and money you could of used rubber bands and only used 1/4 of that space....

I don’t need rubber bands as my straps spend more time on a load than they do in the box. 30D95AF3-3BAC-48B5-83F1-9688855A0DBC.jpeg

So, you can fit 30 4" straps in your side box?

Do you think toolboxes on trailers are a waste of time and money too?

You didn’t quite answer the question, or get the point.

@6mmrem has made excellent use of space in ONE box. His efforts MOTIVATED me to finally organize my mess after reluctantly buying another box.

By the sounds of it, you have 5 boxes. Good for you. Personally I think tarps are a waste of a tool box, I strap mine on the deck and PRAY someone steals them . . . but normally I’d keep that opinion to myself.

It’s OK to compliment a fellow man every once in a while, even if it’s not your cup of tea.

I was trying to state that I was organized and had a separate box for my straps I was not trying to bash the OP nor should it be taken that way I don't keep my tarps on my deck for 2 reasons 1 I don't like wet tarps and second a lot of the places I go to require a clear deck what do you do with them then

    PoleCrusher and blairandgretchen Thank this.
