I showed up to a shipper today and my load had already left.

One of those days haha

 

hope they paid you for that. No reason a shipper can't call and say hey sorry we don't want ur truck we found someone else. I've had that happen once at mercer but the agent blamed the shipper and shipper blamed the agent lol.

 

It was part of a move for some refinery parts so I got a different load than what I was supposed to get. It's larger and heavier than what was advertised but it was also no tarp so it evened out in my opinion.

 

That happens quite often on big moves like cranes and machinery. They order 10+ trucks all supposed to get specific pieces and someone screws up and puts load #4 on truck #8. Its only an issue if truck 8 was a stepdeck and now a flatbed doesn't have a load and they still need a stepdeck. It can also be an issue with weight discrepancies. A short wheel base columbia gets a 30k lb load meant for a w900 instead of his 48k lb so mr big house now had to explain how he can only legally load 40k.

These situations will always occur because humans are imperfect. It sucks for all involved, the customerer needs the equipment moved now and is losing thousands per day over it, the truck owner has to scramble to find a new load, and the agent is put on the spot to try to pull another truck out of his butt with no notice.

 

Yeah which is why I didn't flip my lid over any of it. Except if they wanted me to tarp the now 8' load as opposed to the 3' I was supposed to get I told them it would need a little cash to show for it.

Couple calls later and everything was straight and no tarp was needed for this load. Agent was very concerned about the whole thing but it all ended up fine in the end. Will for sure pull for them again.

 

Filled up at $2.722/ gallon in Misery...liking this downward trend.

 

I paid 2.64 in ms

 

I paid $2.88 at the pilot in Eaton, OH... What a cluster that place is...

 

Well decided to go with carrier can't beat $323 a month for a brand new apu that only uses .15 gallons an hour compared to idling lol
