I read it as must be unladen as only criteria along of course not carrying out any business of Carrier. Pretty simple. Once put OOS for log book absolutely no movement unless escorted otherwise it’s a felony charge Disobeying OOS. Otherwise if I own Truck and have a license to Operate I can go anywhere grocery shopping or camping 1000 miles away and take my empty trailer too if wanted as long as I own it. No different than a RV pulling a boat.My defense was I didn’t have a Load set up. Was going to get coffee and bobtail home unladen. Which is legal only stipulation is to House not Company Yard. Also must start on duty from house when returning to work. It’s such a grey area to most but that is what the rules allow. This was ironed out around 1997. Look it up and update any different interpretations of fmcsa refs not just what Current Companies policies are. Also I’m interested in accepted practices since ELD rules. Hearing different stories about PC abuse crackdowns on Larger Companies. Heard of so called acceptable daily and or weekly amounts. It will be interesting how it shakes out

Carlisle? Elogs of course whole new can of worms. You would think it would put an end to the hair splitting harrasment. I love how I get a ticket on technicality but can’t win in Court technically. Best of Luck either way.

If so that is on duty time. Might not like it, but that's a valid ticket if so.Moephilly1 and SixShooterTransport Thank this.
