PA turnpike is based on weight. So if the truck is fully loaded, I need to pay more for the toll? Does the person on the toll booth ask me the weight? Thanks.

you get wieghed when you get on ...... if your paying your own tolls it's not cheap even if you are empty and when you are heavy it's just ridiculous pa. has the highest tolls in the country and I avoid it as much as possible but sometimes it's not practical and you have to bite the bullet . now they are talking about having truck only tolls in ct. like RI. this needs to be nipped in the bud but of course it will not be and will spread like a plague. ... Indiana is talking about putting truck only tolls on 70 and 65 ...... so they can take excellent care of those roads like they do the toll road.

I no longer drive anything. Lost my license because of having Epilepsy. However what really concerns me is how much general gas tax has been lost because of better designed cars and much improved MPG. I'm concerned because I think the states are going to be seriously looking at Trucks to make up this difference. There are some states that are experimenting with a mileage tax on cars.We will see how that turns out.

PA is going to charge cash trucks according to how many axles you have, and doesn't care about weight because the weigh sensors are less than useless and have been basically inoperable the past 30 years.

PA turnpike is a mess. ( sorry i only know from ohio line to monroeville )
They removed the red/green lights. Our western pa company received so many violations past year. Get in the ez pass lane and don't know if the dang thing registers or not. OOPS gives out a ticket, ohwell not backing up. Our passes work fine and the company is well funded into it.

They don't charge by weight. Just by axles weight class. Avoid the PA PIKE all possible. it's a racket. if you are over weight, Hammer down through the ez pass. mail you a ticket later lmao
Unlike ohio, those folks still have gates even for ez pass o_O

It’s close to 75 cpm without EZ-Pass. My last trip across 76 was $223.40 from Phoenixville to OH.

Also, they do still charge by weight on the PA turnpike. If you’re an empty 5 axle, you’re a class 5 ticket, loaded 60-80k gross you’re a class 7.

Everyone #####es about the tolls, but how many pass the cost on to the broker/customer?

If I know I need to run a toll road to make the delivery on time or without adding a significant amount of miles, I add that to the rate.

Yeah......couple weeks ago cost me $290 from Hammond,In to Route 1 (exit 351ish) up into Trenton

And I have EZPASS- Penna's outta control- Sure we pass the costs on- But its mere Principle to do that- Others aren't as fortunate and Must Rely on US22 and hwy 30 ,Which of Course, takes years off your life.

New Stanton to Breezewood was $15, Now its like $55 in a short 15 year span- That's not moving in stereo-in other words following inflation.

    Indiana did the same Noise-
