That was both scary and funny...but the way you built it up, I really didnt know what you would see when you turned around...

Well so far, my 'marriage' with this company is going ok...except for the truck keeps having maintanance issues...
Other than that, the relationship is good thus far...

I had to stay at the truck stop in Stockton,CA (76?) at HW4. Bad spot. I went to the bathroom before dark and settled in to read. AN hour or two later I hear a southern accent "Git outta my ####### truck! GIT!" I peek out the window and a black guy in a dress with a wig in hand take off running from the truck next to me. Guess he got to third base and found a bat on it.:biggrin_25525:

I'm still married to the company...but it's more like a marriage of convience...I don't really want to be here...but they pay the bills, and provide me shelter...

    But emotionally there's nothing there...

I'm still married to this trucking company...it's so so...but then again I'd probablly say that about any company I was with right now...

I do work for a company that is very versitile though...local as well as over the road routes...I worked local last week...and boy...i don't know which is worse...

With local...you go in at 16:00...and get off at around 02:00-03:00....you go home...(another 20-30 minutes to get home)...and then you scuffle around for a few before going to bed....then you wake up at around 10-11:30 am...before heading out again at 14:30...

Basically you have no time for anything...so it's almost like you may as well be out on the road...

The one good thing about over the road is that your in more control over your time...I mean once you leave the warehouse...your pretty much on your own to do what you want...

But I'm at a point where I don't want to do either..Yes it pays, yes I have a job...but the spark just isnt there anymore...a marriage of convience...

The only way I could get excited about trucking again is if I were put inside a brand new anything...just as long as it was brandnew...

And if I were allowed to pick and choose my own loads, as a company driver, the way they do at Landstar with the o/operaters....

Now If I, as a company driver could choose my own loads...have access to the boards...I think I'de be a much happier camper....

And as a local driver I'de be happy if I could just work 8 hours a week and make $700.00

You know like wake up at 07:00, report to work at 08:00...and get off at 15:00-16:00....now I could handle that...:biggrin_25511:
