I’m in the same boat, I also don’t mind driving for long hours while just listening to music or audio books. I’m looking into switching careers from being in I.T. and having to deal with multiple personalities and fake conversations.

How do you like trucking by the way? Do you find it tiring at all or unsafe? I really admire women that get into it.
-
I guess it has its moments. That’s why it’s nice to be with a team but for those who don’t like to be social it’s a perfect fit. I guess you just have to find someone who understands the lifestyle as far as love goes. It isn’t easy, but I’m sure someone will understand. It is hard though.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
There are those folks who are antisocial, and then there are some that are unsocial. I fall into that second category. I am perfectly happy to be alone, but I don't go out of my way to avoid people. I will happily chat with folks I have never met before, but I do not go out of my way to seek interaction with anyone.
If you happen to be next to me in a restaurant, or a trucker's lounge, I'll chat, but I am just as happy alone in my truck.
**SIGH** Another many-year-old zombie thread.tman78, x1Heavy, kemosabi49 and 6 others Thank this. -

Old thread but still relative to today's OTR drivers. There was times during my last 10 years I wanted to just sit and do paperwork. Getting all my paperwork ready to transflo. At least once a month I was also going over my investment information and advice I was receiving. If wanted to tune out I would put headphones on and listen to classical music. However I discovered it was much more entertaining to sit and listen to some idiot sitting and going on and on about being on a seal team and/or having to register his hands with the FBI. Today many years later i still laugh.tman78, x1Heavy, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this.

For me today Seals are somebody that are based across the Elizabeth river at the Navy Atlantic Coast Little Creek Amphibious base in Norfolk. I have had the pleasure of meeting retired and active duty seal team members. I have not been able to meet this guy. However this is Retired Senior CPO Don Shipley! After listening to a lot of those idiots I love watching his youtube videos. For the record, IF ANYBODY has a question about someone's claim to be a seal, contact him. He has access to the BUDS class information. NO BUDS NO SEAL!

Hell Im local and work 8 hour days. I live alone and have more several years. I’m not lonely at all. Love not dealing with headache of some nag when I got work to do on the truck. People are just so afraid to be alone. If you alone, get a dog. Go on internet dating website every now and then for a piece of arse. Next day block their phone number
-
Haha sounds like my old days... They would get so mad when I would block their number I would have like 40 missed calls and 10 voicemails..Mr.hustle and Cam Roberts Thank this.
