Is it just me or freight has slowed down? I was sitting in Dallas area and was barely able to get out if there before weekend. Now I'm sitting 110 miles from Wichita and there's not much good freight coming out. Has it died down before Christmas?

It's been slowed down like couple months ago.

Do a lot of American independents really just run wild all over the country in whichever direction pays the best for the day? I ask because for me and having to go back and forth to Canada and where our major cities are geographically, it makes getting through the house or the same areas repeatedly very easy.

I think most probably run regional or maybe a couple regions. A few do run wherever. It depends a lot on trailer type

I run wherever the money is within 700 miles of the yard. It changes pretty much constantly. All trucks come home every weekend though.

And yes it started to slow 2 or 3 months ago. Too many new trucks/operators have entered the market.

Sure, some of us don't like doing the exact same thing, going to the exact same places on the exact same roads all year. I know some who will run three different types of trailers in a week, just doing different #### not getting bored and stuck in a rut.

Bidding season was in October so most lanes will pick up January 1st. Lawnmower season will pick up around February or so. I hauled a bunch of lawnmower loads earlier this year.

    Rideandrepair and Trucker61016 Thank this.

    Maybe it stays the same
    Maybe it goes up
    Maybe it goes down
Maybe the more things change the more they stay the same
