Night time driving, dimming the dash lights?

I only work nights Dim the dash lights. No ELD or other crap in Gods country

I don't like my face lit up and I can see better.

I used to have a Hyundai with the plain jane screen. Even at the dimmest dash the radio would blind me. ALWAYS had to turn the screen off.

 

Absolutely. I mean, the thong is a gift, but only visible to myself whilst driving.

You guys need to read the rules more often . . .

 

Clean glass inside and out helps more than anything. I dim my dash lights as well.

If the truck has very many miles its possible the windshield is sand blasted

of course. turn them down in the 4 wheeler ,also.
but, then it's common sense to protect night vision at night.

Yes, anything not having to do with speedometer and RPM is cut down. Generally the red lenses are up above the head on the drivers side and again in the corner of the bunk on driver side. Illuminates the cab pretty good.

I usually run at night, when it's dark enough it's good once the eyes are adjusted particularly out west. Unlike the light pollution NE which actually requires me to wear day time sunglasses believe it or not.

In addition I use a small amount of flat black plastic paint water based to brush out the Chrome rings on the dials all over the dash. They catch sun in the morning and at night to where your eyes get it then deal with spots from that for a while.

Believe it or not some companies have never caught on to the chrome rings being painted out to this day.
