It is skydrol, Douglas developed it long ago, kinda like brake fluid. Maybe, the wiki article show the military Mil-PRF87257 or MIL-H5606 that is used in smaller GA airplanes. Boeing and Douglas airplanes would generally use skydrol.

I wish you wouldn’t make it sound so easy. Next time I fly I’ll be worried a wing is gonna fall off or something.

And I’m sure if it does, they’ll get @catalinaflyer to haul it off somewhere.

Seriously Bear, those are some of the coolest pics I’ve seen in a long time. One more reason this thread wins the internet. So much more than just truckin in here.

It's 2AM, I got 400 miles to go and I5 is shut down north bound just south of Santa Nella. We finally start moving, everyone is getting organized to merge in to the left lane and some clown in a ratty old Century goes down the shoulder to the front of the line.

The root of the problem is a KW 680 and a dry van that somebody got upside down and over the bank on a flat, straight stretch of freeway.

I can only speculate as to the ethnicities of the drivers of each truck.

Thanks Shooter. If we could get you to come take some pics that'd be the icing on the cake.

Engine oil, APU, A/C system, Starters, yes, and it is because of temperature ranges.

We quit using Skydrol a long time ago, at least the Aircraft I work on. It was eating up the seals.. They use it on special purpose aircraft and maybe fighters, not sure though.
