Well my openion, it came to me today ups/ FedEx need faster trucks moving their trailers. They can't handle running 60 mph.

There were 7 loads out of Springdale alone at 0815 this morning. Around 40 loads within 400 miles all paying above $1.50 a mile including deadhead.

Is it what it was back in April or May? No. But it's still very decent for this time of year. Especially when compared to 2015/2016.

Picked up a load last week
Pads on the 17th requires 4ft tarps 8 ft wide and delivers 19th. This is why I booked the load. Get there load is 8f 4'' and reguires 8f tarps. I can deal with that but it's going to cost you. Then to top it off they want it delivered on the 18th by 1200. Then they kick me out of the building to tarp my 7ft load in the snow and blustering wind. Could not keep passing tarps on to protect my tarps due to the heavey wind. So sure enough got two cuts in my tarp. Called the agent an explained the descrempies in the load board and bol. Today some one from Mercer called and someone was expecting the load was to be delivered on the 18th. I explained all the above and said I booked the load based on it being delivered on the 19th. Somehow information was not processed properly between agent and whoever was shipping this load.

I see 22 loads 200 miles out. 14 going to Texas 4 more going to Kansas and WY area lol. Last week I only seen maybe 7 if that in 200 miles. Compared to last year its #### if I was decent at math I would prob say that it's around a 60% drop lol

The amount of freight seems down, but I personally haven't seen a drop in rates.... I'm sure average for the fleet has, but I'm still pulling in good money. I have tarped more than usual, but I'm not running any harder than I have been.

I see more than a few going to the Midwest and Northeast paying decent rates (above $1.50 including deadhead) into good reload areas (OH, NY, MD). Of course some are 209 miles out, 241 miles out, 296 miles out. You can lead a horse to water...

I have a very different definition of a bad freight market. I was pulling a hopper in 2015/2016 and managed to survive that. This here? This is easy mode.
