I am considering a lease purchase for a company hauling crude oil in Midland/Odessa region of West Texas. The hiring recruiters are with Walter Resources and are very cautious about info they give to you. I am being told that Owner Operators who sign onto this oilfield company are making $25k-$30k per month. You of course get to make your own schedule for number of weeks on and off etc. They require no $ upfront but must get your application approved by the company they work for as far as your experience and driving history. Anybody know or have experience with Walter Resources in the West Texas area? Any input is greatly appreciated!

Can I ask you a question? You do have Crude Oil experience right? Have you ever owned a business before or ever done a Lease Purchase before? Just asking..

Well I looked them up on google it says they require 1 year experience doesn't say anything about Crude Experience, but I would imagine they are gonna wanna see some Crude Hauling before they gave you a Lease Purchase deal..
Your gonna have to know how to gauge the tanks, take temps readings and your gonna have 3 different Hydrometers, take samples and mix them, how to use a thief, hook up hoses the proper way... etc I mean the list goes on and on.. Are they gonna give you this training for Lease Purchase? You gotta have a FR, Hardhat, Safety Glasses, H2S Monitor, Boots, Gloves.. You ever drove an 18 speed or 13 speed? I'm just asking all these questions because they WILL NOT hire you if you do not have knowledge of these things... Just trying to help you brother..

Thats the thing, recruiter will not give me answers until he gets the ops mgr to respond to my questions. I was also considering Xcalibur as a company driver.

You better try the company driver route haulin crude out there 1st. Its hairy out there right now. You'll slip seat on Tx HOS rules. And should make almost 2k/week as a co driver from what Ive been told.

You'll need your PEC or Safeland cert, a fit test and your H2S cert. All done in a day in a classroom.
