I’m not sure why the posts were removed. The ability to generate spare income while contributing to overall health is a sound business plan. Since that didn’t satisfy, how about this?

Air tabs, super single tires, 55 mph speeds, single axle, lift axle on trailer, synthetics everywhere, microblue, coast down hill, etc. Thousands spent with a 10 year break even.

Yeah I dont know why they were removed either. I just did the same thing that other esteemed members here do, post real world experience and then a mod gets upset I suppose. Sigh.

Hey look, I cant help it that people want to stay healthy with exercise by traveling the highways and byways of America all the while helping me get ahead in the fuel mileage department. My customers expect cheap rates, and it's my sole purpose to help them with that while providing a valuable public service with no extra expenses to Mr. and Mrs. John Q Taxpayer.

    HAHAHAHAHA.

We were 5 mpg in the 80's and only about 7 and change 40 years later.

Your precious 9 mpg will happen in about another 40 years. If at all, based on electricity.

    Derailed Thanks this.

I picked up 2 mpg in my 1990 swapping the TH400 out for a 4L85E. Gives you overdrive and a lockup torque converter. Rear hole on the frame for the transmission support cross member became the front hole (had to drill a new rear hole). Rear drive shaft still worked and the front shaft is the same as a '91 (1st year for the 4L80E in the 'burbans, last year for the passenger side drop t-case). Just need a control box (got mine from US Shift).

If you’re going after fuel mileage look at what the big fleets are doing and copy them. Running at the weight you do will certainly help. I would think a Cascadia with the Detroit drivetrain and 2.64 rears would get you close to where you want to be. A healthy incentive for your drivers to help you reach your goal will also help, as they are a bigger factor in mileage than how the truck is set up.

    12.7 Deeeeeetroit.

    13 speed, baby.

    3.55 rears.

    24.5 LP.

Fleet Air Filters, free flow exhaust.

My lifetime - 6.5 MPG, flatbed.

Fuel cost is 15% of revenue to the truck, all miles accounted.

    You’re welcome.
