They even give you a warm cloth to wipe......well they've never been specific on what to wipe...

I'd say the grain is still good at this point with some yield loss. Since it's so wet he is probably waiting for the ground to get hard so it will carry the equipment. Unfortunately he's gonna have to deal with wet beans and corn after harvest.
The longer it sits in the field against the rain, snow, or high winds the crops will start to deteriorate. If the weather continues to stay wet the grain might get moldy and lose its quality therefore their grain will get discounted when they haul it in. -
