Yes, it's been open to trucks for a couple years now. It sure is nice not having to take the 101.
    Much less time and headache.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

Lancaster, TX @ the Pilot. I had forgotten how NASTY this place really is. Got here @ 9:00 am and except for reserved parking it was full. I ended up parked on the curb in back.

I pick up @ Sears in Dallas @ 8:00 pm, delivers in El Paso on the 2nd. Why didn't they offer me this load (there was 3 on Mac 30 this morning) instead of the Ruidoso crap?

Much as I hate to do I'll double back to the Lancaster terminal to spend the night. I HATE night driving and no way do I want to be on the road tonight.

    Happy New Year to all.

New Boston terminal. After waiting 24 hours for a load they finally sent me to Buffalo to pick up a tcall to then tcall here. Now I've been here since 6:00 last night and no preplans yet, nothing on Mac 30.

Could've stayed at home if this is how it's going to be.

Sent a Mac 10 asking if anything was available. Was sent two preplans - both were removed and then someone set my PTA to 01/02 23:57.

    Happy New year.

This is the best time of year (first couple weeks of January) to be home, right after the holidays are over because tons of truckers who took the holidays off, are coming back to work in droves right at the worst time of the year when freight is soft and too many drivers.

El Paso (east) @ the Petro.

Took me less than 90 minutes last night from the Pilot in Lancaster to Sears in Dallas then back to the terminal in Lancaster. Then I spent 10 frustrating minutes try to fuel my truck only to figure out that they were out of fuel. So it was back to the truck stop this morning for fuel.

Interesting day. Mix of drizzle and ice fog for the first 450 miles. Seems Texas really hosed down the road with de-ice as I never saw anything to be concerned with. It was blue skys and upper 40s when I got here, high 30s now and 15-20 mph winds. I deliver tomorrow @ 6:00 am then hopefully something west. I flat refuse to head back east along I-20, gonna get ugly there soon!
